“PayBack is THE LAW”
From Romans 13

Submission to the Authorities
1Everyone must submit himself to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God.

5Therefore, it is necessary to submit to the authorities, not only because of possible punishment but also because of conscience. 6This is also why you pay taxes, for the authorities are God’s servants, who give their full time to governing. 7Give everyone what you owe him: If you owe taxes, pay taxes; if revenue, then revenue; if respect, then respect; if honor, then honor.
Love, for the Day is Near
8Let no debt remain outstanding, except the continuing debt to love one another, for he who loves his fellowman has fulfilled the law.

From Matthew 16

24Then Jesus said to his disciples, “If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. 25For whoever wants to save his life[a] will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me will find it. 26What good will it be for a man if he gains the whole world, yet forfeits his soul? Or what can a man give in exchange for his soul?

August 18, 2008

Good Shepherd Lutheran School

A ministry of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Wisconsin Rapids, WI. We are happy to provide a unique, Christ-centered educational experience for students in grades 1-8. Our one-room school, with its limited enrollment of 15 students, is privileged to have served our community since 2005 and looks forward to each successive school year. To God be all glory!

CHRISTIAN HIGH SCHOOL

Good Shepherd Lutheran Church is not yet a member of the Northland Lutheran High School Association. However, as a WELS congregation, there is a substantially reduced tuition rate for any of our young people who choose to attend. Consider NHL for high school education needs. Information is available directly from Northland Lutheran High School. 1-845-2448

WISCONSIN LUTHERAN COLLEGE

Wisconsin Lutheran College is a private, 4 year, accredited college affiliated with our synod but not supported by synodical budget. WLC offers a Christian alternative to various colleges and universities. The campus is located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

CONFIRMATION CLASSES

Children in the 7th and 8th grades prepare for the reception of the Lord’s Supper and communicant membership by taking two years of instructions in the basics of Christian faith as outlined in Luther’s Small Catechism.

ADULT BIBLE STUDY

After church we gather again for a more informal and in-depth study of God’s word. Youth and adults help each other grow and share their faith and knowledge.

“A Crumb is MORE than enough!”
From Matthew 15

21Leaving that place, Jesus withdrew to the region of Tyre and Sidon. 22A Canaanite woman from that vicinity came to him, crying out, “Lord, Son of David, have mercy on me! My daughter is suffering terribly from demon-possession.”

23Jesus did not answer a word. So his disciples came to him and urged him, “Send her away, for she keeps crying out after us.”

24He answered, “I was sent only to the lost sheep of Israel.”
