From Psalm 24

Of David. A psalm.

1 The earth is the LORD’s, and everything in it,
the world, and all who live in it;

2 for he founded it upon the seas
and established it upon the waters.

3 Who may ascend the hill of the LORD ?
Who may stand in his holy place?

4 He who has clean hands and a pure heart,
who does not lift up his soul to an idol
or swear by what is false. [a]

5 He will receive blessing from the LORD
and vindication from God his Savior.

6 Such is the generation of those who seek him,
who seek your face, O God of Jacob. [b]
Selah

7 Lift up your heads, O you gates;
be lifted up, you ancient doors,
that the King of glory may come in.

8 Who is this King of glory?
The LORD strong and mighty,
the LORD mighty in battle.

9 Lift up your heads, O you gates;
lift them up, you ancient doors,
that the King of glory may come in.

10 Who is he, this King of glory?
The LORD Almighty—
he is the King of glory.
Selah

From Luke 1

Mary’s Song
46And Mary said:
“My soul glorifies the Lord
47and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior,
48for he has been mindful
of the humble state of his servant.
From now on all generations will call me blessed,
49for the Mighty One has done great things for me—
holy is his name.
50His mercy extends to those who fear him,
from generation to generation.
51He has performed mighty deeds with his arm;
he has scattered those who are proud in their inmost thoughts.
52He has brought down rulers from their thrones
but has lifted up the humble.
53He has filled the hungry with good things
but has sent the rich away empty.
54He has helped his servant Israel,
remembering to be merciful
55to Abraham and his descendants forever,
even as he said to our fathers.”

May 07 Bread and Bible

May 15, 2008Bread and Bible

What is “Bread and Bible”?
It is just another informal way to reach out and share the Word of our Savior and Lord, Jesus Christ. At each gathering, which occur on the 2nd Tuesday of the month, between September and May, we prepare and eat the foods that represent the “theme” of that month’s meeting. One month, our theme was Chocolate, and another month, it was German food. While the food is simmering or baking, or sometimes while we’re eating, we then have a short devotion and Bible study. All are welcome to attend. There is no fee for attending, but come prepared to have a lot of fun!

About Us

October 9, 2007

Our mission is simple and bold: we seek to grow in faith and knowledge of our Savior Jesus. We want to make him known to others so that they too may share the joys that Jesus won for them.

Our Church Council

WE BELIEVE

That it’s by GRACE ALONE people are forgiven. We have peace with God and eternal
life instead of guilt, fear and condemnation. Grace is God’s undeserved love.
That it’s by FAITH ALONE this free gift of forgiveness is received by
people. Faith is the God-created personal trust in all God has done for us by the life, death and victorious resurrection of His only Son, Jesus Christ.
That it’s the SCRIPTURE ALONE that is the absolute source of truth. It is to be believed above human reason, experience or tradition. By “SCRIPTURE” we mean the Bible, the divinely inspired, inerrant Word of God.
That New Life is God’s free gift to all who believe in Jesus Christ as their personal Savior from sin. Far from being a license to sin, we have been freed to serve God boldly, carefully, enthusiastically, in joy and peace.
We’re guided by the Word, built up in it, strengthened and renewed in God’s love through it. We look forward to a glorious, eternal life with Jesus Christ, the Lord.

SECOND WEEK

Then the commanding officer and his soldiers and the Jewish temple policemen arrested Jesus and tied Him up and led Him away. They took Him to Annas first, because he was the father-in-law of Caiaphas, who was the Head Priest that year. Caiaphas was the man who had told the Jews that it would be better to have one man die for the people.
